Your donation helps us to preserve endangered species
Your donation helps Mountain View conserve rare and endangered species of mammals, birds and amphibians such as the Malayan Tapir, Thompson’s Gazelle, Cape Painted Hunting Dog, Oregon Spotted Frog and Vancouver Island Marmot.
Currently, Mountain View is home to over 50 species, some are extinct in the wild, many are endangered or threatened, and few are here to provide exposure to breeding groups of animals they would expect to encounter in the natural habitat.
Your donation helps with food, vet care, breeding and reintroduction to their native habitats. Mountain View is a registered non-profit organization and will issue tax receipts for donations.

3) Material Contributions - Our Spring Wish List
Spring is a time of renewed life and birth, and nowhere is that more true than here at Mountain View Conservation Society and Breeding Centre. We are all eagerly waiting to see what wonderful new additions are coming our way. But while we wait, we work!
As a not-for-profit society, finding the funds to purchase new equipment is time we’d rather spend on caring for the animals. So we’re sending out this Spring Wish List, in the hope that you can help us with these needed items. The first 6 listed objects can be previously used but we’d prefer the final two wishes to be new if possible.
- 12 - Plastic Leaf Rakes. These are indispensible for cleaning out the used straw and bedding from many of our hoofed species such as the Masai Giraffes and Grevy’s Zebras.
- 24 - Heavy-Duty Garbage Pails (without wheels). We need these for a multitude of tasks such as cleaning out the indoor winter homes of many of our species.
- 12 - 50 ft to 75 ft heavy-duty water hoses (without kinks). Used daily for providing water and cleaning the facilities, our present hoses are cracked beyond repair.
- 2 - Digital Produce Scales. Many of our small inhabitants, such as the Spotted Owls and Ring-tailed Lemurs have diets which require specific amounts of nutrients, a scale helps! We also are looking for 2 larger scales that could be used in weighing newborns such as Mhorr Gazelle.
- 1- Two-door Cooler. It’s getting warmer and our Cape Hunting Dogs are always hungry. A two-door cooler will allow us to keep more food for them.
- 2 - New 8’ x 10’ Outdoor Sheds. Our ever-growing program for the endangered Oregon Spotted Frogs requires 2 storage sheds for supplies.
- 2 - New 4’ x 6’ Outdoor Sheds. These are needed to store supplies for both our new Takin and our Cape Hunting Dogs.
