BOOK A GROUP VISIT
Mountain View’s Community Action Plan includes our commitment to educate the public about the endangered species in our care. We offer group education tours to community groups and associations such as: Girl Scouts, The Ontario Naturalists, The Zoology Club, The Peace River Senior’s Association, Natural History Society or any other organized group of children or adults. We welcome the opportunity to provide your group with a guided visit to Mountain View.
The facility is not open to the general public because our first priority is the care of our animals, but we provide 2 tour times daily for those willing to book in advance. Touching or feeding the animals is not permitted but the opportunity to experience viewing these rare animals in their natural habitat is very special indeed.
THE MOUNTAIN VIEW TOUR EXPERIENCE
Tours are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Tours are conducted rain or shine, seven days a week. Each tour is a narrated one and a half hour walk and ride on our tour tram through the conservation area. The tour allows you to see animals up-close in naturalistic environments. You’ll meet our dedicated and professional animal care team and have the opportunity to ask questions. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on our beautiful grounds. Art, crafts and souvenirs are available from the gift shop.
A SHORT FILM TO BEGIN
Your tour begins with a visit to the Education Centre to watch a short film presentation on the history of Mountain View Conservation’s work with rare and endangered animals.
Each tour is a narrated one and a half hour walk and ride on our tour tram through the conservation area.
BRING YOUR CAMERA AND DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Also, be prepared for some light walking. Although you’ll ride in a tractor-pulled tram for some of the tour, a part of the tour is by foot. Remember, tours are conducted rain or shine, so bring appropriate gear and footwear.
