BOOK A SCHOOL VISIT
Consider Mountain View Conservation Society as a potential field trip location that not only offers a unique educational experience to students, but also supports the conservation of rare and endangered species and their habitat.
Mountain View Conservation Society is unique in that our focus is on conservation and education. We are active in both local and international re-introduction programs and our educational tours can accommodate students K-12.
Tours are fully narrated/guided by knowledgeable tour guides and are conducted on a tram pulled by a tractor and take approximately two and a half hours. There are plenty of opportunities to disembark from the tram to get close to the animals and take pictures. Touching or feeding the animals is not permitted but the opportunity to experience viewing these rare animals in their natural habitat is very special indeed.
We have SPECIAL SCHOOL GROUP RATES available!
Children (ages 4-17) $10.00 each
Additional adults $20.00 each
THE MOUNTAIN VIEW TOUR EXPERIENCE
Tours are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Tours are conducted rain or shine, seven days a week. Each tour is a narrated two and a half hour walk and ride on our tour tram through the conservation area. The tour allows you to see animals up-close in naturalistic environments. You’ll meet our dedicated and professional animal care team and have the opportunity to ask questions. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on our beautiful grounds. Art, crafts and souvenirs are available from the gift shop.
A SHORT FILM TO BEGIN
Your tour begins with a visit to the Education Centre to watch a short film presentation on the history of Mountain View Conservation’s work with rare and endangered animals.
Each tour is a narrated two and a half hour walk and ride on our tour tram through the conservation area.
BRING YOUR CAMERA AND DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Also, be prepared for some light walking. Although you’ll ride in a tractor-pulled tram for some of the tour, a part of the tour is by foot. Remember, tours are conducted rain or shine, so bring appropriate gear and footwear.
